Do you feel it? Fall is here….is your skin ready? I know what you thinking! 2020 has been nothing but a big year of change, and you don’t need one more thing to worry about, but I promise to keep it simple and easy. Here are 3 ways you can transition your at-home skincare routine to keep your complexion glowing this fall season.

  1. Deep clean your pores with an Oil Cleanser

Now is the perfect time to deep clean your pores and remove all signs of built-up sunscreens and summer sweat, that leave your pores looking a bit dirty... Deep clean by incorporating the “double cleanse” oil method. This uses 2 types of cleansers, usually an oil cleanser followed by a gentle cleanser for your skin type. An oil cleanser gently lifts and dissolves makeup, sweat, and dark blackheads in and around the pore and washes away clean. It can double as your gentle morning cleanser! Try Silk Radiance 3-in-1 Oil Cleanser by Epicuren Discovery.

How to Double Cleanse:

  • Step 1. Apply a dime size amount of oil cleanser, no water, directly over makeup and dry skin.

  • Step 2. Use circular cleansing motions to work the oil in and around the hair follicle and pore for 30 seconds

  • Step 3. Wet your hands with water and add to the oil cleanser turning it into a milky consistency, and continue to cleanse for another 30 seconds. This will help break up the dirt in the pores

  • Step 4. Rinse face with clean water

  • Step 5. Cleanse a second time with a cleanser for your skin type (dry, normal, combination, oily, or sensitive) combined with water. Cleanse for 1 minute.

  • Step 6. Rinse and follow with your next step in your nightly skincare routine

2. Increase Hydration with a weekly hydrating mask.

Dehydration is one the top 3 culprits of premature aging. Keeping the skin moist, hydrated and supple is key in your 30’s. As fall weather arrives, humidity levels drop, and the skin starts to feel tight, dry, and sensitized. By adding a weekly hydrating mask to your skin routine, it will do wonders to keeping the fine lines and wrinkles at bay. Try a sheet mask from Trader Joes or a nice luxurious cream mask like the Hydrating Mineral Mask by Epicuren Discovery

Professional tip* apply hydrating mask to lips as well, they NEED hydration too!

3. Balance Pigmentation and Brighten the Skin Naturally

Fall is a great time to correct pigmentation. There are many options to help balance discoloration, but they do come at a risk. If you have a darker skin tone or tan easily, then you are at a higher risk of developing permanent discoloration from the treatments, such as laser, microdermabrasion, and medium to deep peels. Additionally, due to the mask mandate, chemical peels are posing a risk to chemical burns around the chin and jawline. Many are experiencing sensitized skin by the chaffing of daily use of masks.

For a safe and gentle approach that you can do at home, I recommend a pumpkin enzyme peel that will exfoliate and is naturally high in vitamin a once a week. Then follow with a brightening serum that will promote a balanced skin tone over time.  Epicuren Discovery recently launched their new Age Defy Anti-aging Oil that not only brightens the skin but hydrates, reduces redness, and combats wrinkles. It’s the ultimate trifecta for anyone’s anti-aging routine.

By adding these 3 steps to your skincare routine this fall, your skin will stay happy, healthy, and youthful, and you will also spend a few minutes each day making time for your #selfcare. What of these top 3 tips are you planning to implement in your skin routine tonight?
